Outdoor Movies has been delivering best of class outdoor screening, projection and sound services for 14 years. We are the USA's leading seller of professional outdoor inflatable movie screens and projection equipment, and we are the North American distributor for AIRSCREEN. As leader in the industry, numerous patents have been filed for our inflatable movie screen products. Our extensive services and rental department offer industry leading large scale digital and 35mm services s to Film Festivals, motion picture studios, large events in the US and around the world. Our capabilities include D-Cinema, 35mm film and high definition video projection. We are a Christie partner and have trained at Christie's production facility in Kitchener, Ontario on numerous occasions receiving D-Cinema installation, service and operation certification. We are also dealers for Doremi's servers.

History

Outdoor Movies was founded as Deutsch Inc. in 1998 by Bob Deutsch and was an outgrowth of the incredibly successful Comcast Outdoor Film Festival benefiting the NIH Children's Charities, which had been in existence for six years. At that time, projection technology was 35mm film only, and an inflatable screen was not yet invented. Installation began 10 days before the event began as scaffolding had to be constructed. We became aware of the AIRSCREEN product a number of years later and invested in a 40' x 20' AIRSCREEN. The screen was such a popular item that we purchased several more. As outdoor screenings gained in popularity our business grew and we became the North American distributor of AIRSCREEN inflatable screens. Meanwhile, digital projection was coming of age. Reliability, brightness and color accuracy were improving and we invested in these new projectors. Today we represent Christie Digital Systems 3 chip DLP and Cinema projectors and the lines of other manufacturers, as well as Doremi Lab servers. We realized that great images also required great sound. Our leadership in these areas brought us customers from around the world.

As the company grew, sales of outdoor movie screens, projection and sound equipment became a part of our focus. We used our experience and customer feedback to continuously improve the AIRSCRREEN product, and to develop the AIRSCREEN AEROPRO Complete Outdoor Movie Packages, which have become the standard for many park and recreation departments, our armed forces, universities and partner outdoor movie production companies. And as technology advances, these products keep improving. This year we introduced high definition to all of our PRO packages.

Biographies

While we are a technology focused company, we realize that our real assets are our people and our customers. Our full time staff and contract engineers have hundreds of years of combined experience and an understanding of how to make the difficult seem easy in the most challenging environments.

Bob Deutsch, Outdoor Movies founder, had a love of technology at an early age. He graduated University of Maryland with a B.S. degree in Radio Television and Film. Bob worked in the broadcast industry for ABC and for other station operators for 22 years and worked for Loral Space and Communications developing satellite based video streaming solutions. At Outdoor Movies, Bob spearheaded the development of the AEROPRO model of inflatable screens in partnership with AIRSCREEN. Bob is co-inventor on three pending patent applications. A deep love for the outdoor movie business and delighted audiences are what keeps Bob motivated.	Shane Spruill joined Outdoor Movies in 1999 as Director of Operations. Shane grew up in Burtonsville, MD and attended Loyola College. He was firefighter, electrician's journeyman, and broadcaster before joining Outdoor Movies. Shane runs the logistics side of the Outdoor Movies business and is the lead engineer on many important screenings like Atlanta's Screen on the Green. Shane has completed service, installation and operation training on Christie's digital cinema line. Shane's screen rigging experience is an asset as he works with screens 100' wide!	Bob Spruill joined Outdoor Movies in 2005 and has been a lead technician helping customers ever since. Clients admire Bob's well rounded technical knowledge and his calm demeanor on working. Bob has been trained on our most sophisticated technologies and is a leader in customer support. Bob also has extensive repair experience on outdoor movie screens and is certified on our RF welder.
