by Bob Deutsch

The Mill Valley Film Festival has been an institution, since 1978, to the Marin County’s town nestled 14 miles away from San Francisco. Starting as only a three-day festival, it has transformed into a 11-day festival, hosting more than 200 film makers from over 50 countries worldwide.

Did you know?
Five out of the last seven Academy Award winners for Best Picture (Slumdog Millionaire, The King’s Speech, The Artist, Argo and 12 Years a Slave) premiered their films at Mill Valley.

This is the second year that DTA Global was a part of the Film Festival.  Our theater, this year, was the Throckmorton Theatre. The quaint theater, located in the heart of Mill Valley, regularly hosts comedy shows, musical performances, art exhibitions and the “Throckmorton Mountainfilm” series. The theater’s unique interior lends itself to a special screening experience during the film festival. Throughout the 11-day show, we showed 28 films and in many cases four screenings a day.
